Last night saw the celebration event for the second instalment of the Mayor’s Script Diversity Programme through Screen Yorkshire. I was buzzing to be a part of the cohort, which included 10 writers who are all established outside of screenwriting.

The programme involved a series of six online masterclasses with industry professionals as well as a few in-person industry networking events. I’m immensely grateful to Screen Yorkshire for the opportunity and have already made some invaluable connections.

We’re all on a journey as writers, and whilst I’ll always be a poet at my core, I’m enjoying experimenting with alternative forms. Who knows where this will lead, but either way, I’ve learnt a lot, and it was a huge confidence boost to be welcomed into the cohort.
