This is a cause that’s very close to my heart, and so I was humbled to be commissioned by Welcoming Young Refugees to write this poem for Refugee Week 2020.
What makes it even more special for me is the fact that one of the carers mentioned, Sally, took me to the Calais Jungle for the first time in 2016. WYR and Migration Yorkshire do incredible work – please check them out here.
